According to the dictionary definition:
A roadmap is a plan for how to achieve something.
But the devil is in the details. If we want to have a good learning roadmap, we should focus on the main characteristics that it must have:
- Goal-Oriented
A roadmap begins with a clear goal in mind. This could be learning a new skill, mastering a technology, or transitioning into a new role. The goal defines the direction of the plan. For example, you'll find specific ones like a DevOps Roadmap or one for becoming a Mid-Level Java Developer.
- Step-by-Step Process
It breaks down the goal into smaller, manageable steps. Each step moves you closer to your goal. It lets you tackle one thing at a time without getting overwhelmed by the volume of material ahead.
- Prioritization
It helps you prioritize what to learn first. Some tasks are foundational, so you must do them before tackling more complex areas. This ensures that you build a strong foundation before advancing.
- Structured Timeline
